about

This was written in honor of my late best friend, Aaron Michael Leonard. He and I grew up together, both personally and musically. We were each other's sounding boards. In all that time, we'd never written anything for one another, though we collaborated on one song ('One for Mom'). Well, now that he's gone and I've had time to get used to it, the feelings suddenly started pouring out one day, in the form of this song. It exemplifies the playfulness, dignity, intensity, pain, and joy his life represented. a fitting tribute to a joyful, complex, tortured soul. Brilliant guitar solo work by the late great jazzman Mike McKinley.
